The details of each of our programs and how they are taught is what sets Aquastream apart from other swim schools. We’ve carefully designed each program to not just meet, but go well beyond, what’s required from contemporary swimming standards.
Our Parents & Tots program is designed for infants between the ages of 6 and 30 months along with their caregivers. In these classes, infants will learn basic skills such as buoyancy, back and front floats, as well as shallow water entry and exit. With regularity and consistent attendance, caregivers report increased peace of mind that their infant is competent and safe in and around water. We offer these 30-minute classes on a weekly basis and with a student to teacher ratio of 6:1.Â
The Toddlers swim program is intended for children between the ages of 3 and 5 years, with flexible entry and exit options based on your swimmer’s age, ability, and progress. The program spans four different levels, beginning with basic skills such as opening the eyes in the water and front and back floats, all the way up to distance swimming and coordinated kicking. This is where we begin to build confidence in the water. Toddler classes are offered on a weekly basis for 45-minutes each and are taught on a 3:1 student to teacher ratio.
From our Toddlers program, children can progress to Fun Kids. Offered for children between 5 and 10 years of age, there are five unique levels in this program. The skills learned range from arm and leg coordination to independent distance swimming and learning the basics of specific swimming strokes. At this age, children are also capable of understanding water safety skills, which is an invaluable tool in their progression. Aquastream holds 45-minute Fun Kids classes on a weekly basis with a 3:1 student to teacher ratio.
In the Pro Kids program, swimmers truly begin to blossom into the confident swimmer we develop here at Aquastream. For children and teens between the ages of 10 and 13 years, our instructors begin to take a more individual approach at each of these three levels, developing the specific skills needed by each swimmer as well as endurance and cardiovascular strength. Swimmers will start to perfect strokes like the breast stroke and side stroke as well as move into more advanced strokes. These 45-minute lessons are held on a weekly basis with a 3:1 student to teacher ratio.
At Aquastream, we believe all children should have access to the benefits of learning to swim. That’s why we offer a Special Needs swim program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder as young as 3 years old. The main focus of this program is to teach water safety to children with different learning styles. These 45-minute weekly lessons take place on 1:1 ratio with certified instructors, to provide the utmost care and comfort to special needs children.
